Re: Chicken Knives, Tari, Slasher - tying, sharpening etc
Sirs jailbird, Joey hidalgo, the saint, banton spur and the rest of the group, greetings from Batangas. We have all been busy in our respective endeavors. Managing a farm is not easy but we do it for the love of the sport. Breeding is as challenging as it could be. Testing them at the pits as Joey and Jovie have recently showed gives us hope for the future. Best wishes for the coming year. Regards.

To those who still have not read it : May practice short knife tying session mamaya ang tropa sa sta rita. Biglaan lang dahil cock fighting holiday. So we will just have a learning session instead.
I wonder if we can promote short knife hacks in our cockpits. It would be nice to have short knives ulutan.

Just being open-minded, assuming that 2SKs is truly indeed an advantage over the 1LK (as mentioned in the other thread), just imagine the implications and possibilities. Wow!
Happy New Year, brothers-in-sport!

...but the question remains: are 2 Filtanas an advantage over one of your JDRs? Seriously though, I think your Filtanas offer a more solid base.

Thank you and a Happy New Year to you also. Hope we do well with all our birds this year. Hope to see you all soon. Haven't been able to join you lately in the Tare Tare. Fought 2 hacks in Mandaluyong today and both won. Hope I do well all the way to the World Slasher.

Thanks Whel. Yes Serge tjose leather booys were made by Bantonspur - sir Dong. Well I could say I played a minor part suggesting some improvement. I have since then made some more improvements just to suit the Phil Fork Knife.
The Filtana as Whel suggested is my version of the Mexican Botana - I had to modify and come up with a totally different system because the dimensions of our Pinoy SKs are different from the Mexican designs. Luckily the new system will accomodate Mexican Knives as well.
It also provides a lot more stability and adjustability.
I am still fabricating a few more as we will have two entries in the 6 cock SK derby and by habit we always prepare a set for each rooster.

Re: Chicken Knives, Tari, Slasher - tying, sharpening etc
we'll surely see each other soon sir serge... and hopefully get to have more chicken talk with than just watching pacquiao being knockdown (just kidding)... need more learnings on this passion we had, coming from all of you senyores... the winner seems to be fully recovered but starts to molt, maybe due to lots of feathers removed and cut during the fight, hoping to include him again and defend his title...
sir jb that's a lot of filtana to be made soon... waaahhh, was really very far behind na... will be starting to take a lesson pa lng for the regular knife tying... hope there are still garols out there so i can practice and do my homework....
